Soldotna and Kodiak Show What it Means to Live One for All!

Tom, Donna and Leslie

Tom Newins, Senior VP of Member Services, Donna LaPella, VP of Administration and Leslie Ellis, President show off an impromptu auction item at the Soldotna Member Appreciation event.

CU1's Member Appreciation Event season was kicked off with our Soldotna Branch's event on March 18th and our Kodiak Branch's event on April 14th. CU1 loves to show appreciation to our members and appreciation to the community by raising funds during our Member Appreciation Events. And, CU1 matches the funds given at these events to maximize each dollar raised!

Both events were a tremendous success! With the CU1 match, over $9500 was raised for Camp Mend-A-Heart in Soldotna (a day camp program of Hospice that provides bereavement services to children who have lost a loved one), and $4500 for Special Olympics in Kodiak!

CU1 sends out a huge THANK YOU to both the Soldotna and Kodiak communities for their support of these incredible programs. Your generosity and "one for all" spirit is truly inspirational.

The information to help everyone live "one for all" can still be found right here, beginning with new features on the home page.  On the right hand side of the home page you can keep track of our community service with information about what organizations we've recently supported in your community, along with our yearly tally of donations and volunteer hours.  You can also learn more about the non-profit that CU1 is raising money for each month (in April, it's Big Brothers Big Sisters) and participate in the polls so that we can learn more about all of you!

Spotlight: Junior Achievement of Alaska

Junior Achievement programs help prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs which make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace. Students put these lessons into action and learn the value of contributing to their communities.

When you donate to Junior Achievement of Alaska , you can feel confident that your money is going to help a local cause. Strapped for cash? For every "like" we recieve on Facebook during the month of April, Credit Union 1 will donate $1 (up to $500) to JA!
